Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Fokyo app and website. By creating an account or using Fokyo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Fokyo helps you block distracting apps and build healthier screen habits using your device’s Screen Time controls. Fokyo is a productivity tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional advice. It cannot guarantee any particular outcome.

Fokyo has no free plan: using it requires a subscription or the one-time Lifetime purchase. The monthly and yearly subscriptions start with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers, after which the plan you chose is charged and renews at the price shown to you at checkout unless you cancel before the trial ends. Lifetime is a single payment with no trial and nothing to renew. Subscriptions are auto-renewing: unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, your subscription renews automatically and your payment method is charged for the next period.

Depending on where you subscribe, payment is charged either to your Apple App Store account or, for web purchases, to the payment method you provide to our web billing provider (Stripe, via RevenueCat). Prices may vary by region and are shown at the point of purchase.

You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time. If you subscribed in the app, use your App Store subscriptions; if you subscribed on the web, manage it from your Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. App Store refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

Hard Mode is designed to make leaving a block deliberate and slow. Fokyo sets a Screen Time passcode on your iPhone and keeps it, and you wait out a cooling-off period before a release is granted.

Hard Mode is not unbreakable. Setup asks you to skip Apple Account recovery for the Screen Time passcode; if you add your Apple Account there anyway, Apple’s “Forgot Passcode?” flow can reset it, and erasing the device removes it along with everything else. Fokyo makes leaving harder, not impossible, and you are responsible for the settings you choose.

You agree not to misuse Fokyo: don’t attempt to break, probe, or disrupt the service, reverse engineer it except as permitted by law, or use it to violate anyone’s rights or any applicable law. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Fokyo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will prevent any specific behavior.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fokyo and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Fokyo in the twelve months before the claim.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Fokyo after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
